Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

Day 1 Early morning departure to Dover for the crossing to Calais and then on to Forbach for an overnight stay.

Day 2 Continuing the journey into Austria and to Igls for a five night stay.

Day 3 A free day in Igls, take advantage of the hotel’s excellent facilities, allowing time to enjoy the swimming pool and courtyard garden. Or take the cable car into the mountains and enjoy the stunning views. Lunch and allinclusive drinks on this day.

Day 4 A full day travelling over the Brenner Pass, south into Italy to the old spa town of Merano. A quaint medieval centre with arcades, narrow lanes and interesting architectural features. There are romantic castles, beautiful Art Nouveau buildings and villas, ancient churches, statues, museums, and many other landmarks to view.

Day 5 Today you will visit the city of Innsbruck, ‘Capital of the Tyrol’ where the ‘Golden Roof’, Imperial Palace, Hofkirche and Stadttrum can be found. Free time to explore before continuing to Lake Archensee, the Tyrol’s largest lake and a sparkling jewel in the heart of the Rofan Alps. The coach will stop at Pertisau before descending to the Inn Valley and back to hotel. This evening travel back down into Innsbruck where you will enjoy a typical Tyrolean evening, a varied programme including authentic folk music with different instruments, Tyrolean dances, ‘shoe-slapping’ as well as typical singing and of course ‘yodelling’.

Day 6 Today travel past Seefeld and across the Alps into Bavaria, passing Garmisch Partenkirchen to Oberammergau, home to the world famous Passion Play which is performed every 10 years. Time to explore the village, visit the passion play theatre or the Oberammergau Museum and enjoy lunch. Rejoin the coach and travel past Graswang and King Ludwig’s Linderhof Castle to Reutte, crossing the scenic Fern Pass through Lermoos and back to Igls.

Day 7 Time to leave Austria and head into Germany and onto Forbach for an overnight stop.

Day 8 Breakfast, then commence the homeward journey.
