Day 1 Early morning departure for Folkestone and the crossing to Calais. Continuing the journey on to Antwerp for an overnight stay.
Day 2 Continue the journey to arrive late morning in Dusseldorf where you will enjoy a gentle boat trip along the River Rhine and enjoy the view. Afterwards we have included a 2 course lunch in a restaurant in Dusseldorf before travelling onto Hannover and the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 3 Today you will visit the historic Castle Buckeburg. Travel back in time when guided through the magnificent rooms and experience a grand atmosphere in the fairy tale castle. It is also home to the only private court riding school in Germany. Be astonished when you see the ability of horse and rider who will show the high standards of the Royal and Spanish horsemanship in baroque costumes. Then continue to the restored Park Café for coffee and cake. In the afternoon sit back and enjoy a gentle cruise along the largest water street and parts of the Mindener Harbour.
Day 4 A visit to Marienburg Castle set on a hill overlooking the countryside. This authentically preserved summer residence of the Walfs, the once largest dynasty in Europe and counts as one of the most important neogothic architectural monuments of Germany. Learn about the buildings, its inhabitants and rich history during the guided tour. In the afternoon you will visit the beautiful, unique baroque gardens of Herrenhausen. Dinner tonight will be served in a traditional restaurant in Hannover where you will enjoy some local specialities.
Day 5 Todays visit to the Castle Hamelschenburg – a three winged building with a moat, a drawbridge and two imposing stair towers. We have included a guided tour for you to learn more about this magnificent castle. Then travel to Hamelin and have included a lunch for you before the popular Pied Piper of Hamelin will take you on a tour of his town. He will tell you lots of interesting facts and easylistening anecdotes about Hamelin when he is not piping on his flute.
Day 6 Today depart for Antwerp, with its old city centre steeped in history. You will find ancient building fronts on narrow streets and in the imposing Grand-Place. Some free time before travelling to the overnight hotel.
Day 7 Breakfast, then commence the homeward journey.
