Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Coleford in the Royal Forest of Dean for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today you will cross the border into Wales to the Georgian market town of Monmouth, famous for its unique 13th century Monnow Bridge, with some free time. Afterwards backtrack into England for a relaxing cruise along the River Wye from Symonds Yat West, which has long been one of the most spectacular stretches of the Wye Valley. Returning to the hotel where you can relax or use the leisure facilities.
Day 3 This morning you will follow the twists and turns of the Wye Valley for a coffee break and photo opportunity at the magnificent ruins of Tintern Abbey, before continuing to the historic walled border town of Chepstow, which is dominated by the oldest surviving stone castle in Britain, on the banks of the River Wye. Onward to the Royal Forest of Dean for a relaxing round trip on the Dean Forest Railway before returning to the hotel.
Day 4 First you will visit Ledbury with its ‘black and white’ timber-framed buildings for a coffee stop before continuing to the historic city of Hereford with its golden-stone cathedral, half-timbered houses with independent shops clustered along quirky Church Street. Finishing the day off with a visit to Ross-on-Wye.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
