Day 1 Early morning departure for Dover and the crossing to Calais. You will then travel through France to Forbach for an overnight stop.
Day 2 Continuing the journey on into Austria and to the medieval city of Feldkirch for a five night stay. Enjoy a hot winter punch on your arrival and you will be given information about the snow country and the surrounding areas.
Day 3 Today you will head up into the Swiss Mountains to Chur, capital of the Grisons with over 150 valleys and the oldest city in Switzerland. Here you will board the train for a journey deep into the magnificent mountains to the famous ski resort of Arosa. Take a stroll around the charming lake before the return journey back to Chur. You could take a short walk to its Cathedral in the old town before returning to the hotel.
Day 4 Travelling to Hohenems for a visit, where the famous manuscript from the Nibelungenlied can be found in the Count’s Palace. Opposite is the Schosskaffee and here you will learn about the ingredients and the production of their chocolate, and of course you will get to try it too, and select a bar to take home with you. Afterwards you will continue to the hilly Appenzell, one of the most rustic cantons in Switzerland. Here you will try a sample of the therapeutic Appenzeller Alpenbitter and learn all about it. Finally you head for Vaduz, the capital city of Liechtenstein before returning to hotel.
Day 5 A journey to Dornbirn and on to the Bregenzerwald and through the forest to Oberstdorf. Famous as being one of the hills of the Four Hills ski jumping tournament. Take a lift up to the impressive ski jump and see the spectator’s seats of the Erdinger Arena from a bird’s eye view. Afterwards, a visit to the ski museum is a must. Next stop is the Bavarian port town of Lindau, beautifully located on an island in Lake Constance. Time to explore before driving through Bregenz, the provincial capital of Voralberg back to the hotel.
Day 6 A scenic drive through the Walgau up to the Flexen Pass to the famous ski resort of Zurs and Lech, where many famous families have spent their winter holidays. You will enjoy a sleigh ride from Lech to Zug where you will be meet by the coach and taken to St Anton, the other famous ski-resort on the Arlberg. Time permitting take the cable car up the mountain or enjoy a Gluhwein in one of the ice bars.
Day 7 Sadly you have to depart for the journey back into France and to Forbach for an overnight stop.
Day 8 After breakfast, depart the hotel to commence the homeward journey.
