Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Shropshire arriving late afternoon at the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today takes us to the impressive Ironbridge Gorge before making our way to Blists Hill Victorian town. This 52 acre site is a bustling recreation of a Victoria town. Discover what life was like for a housewife, buy curious products in the chemist, grocers and drapers or enjoy a drink in the New Inn.
Day 3 Our visit takes us to ‘where Shropshire meets Wales’, the vibrant market town of Oswestry where you can hear Welsh and English voices mingling side by side in the recently voted ‘coolest place to live in England’. We then travel to Shrewsbury, packed with timber framed black and white buildings amongst narrow alleyways surrounded by the River Severn.
Day 4 Today we will travel to the RAF Cosford Museum, with over 70 aircraft on display of international importance. See the oldest Spitfire and a Lincoln Bomber, just two of the highlights in the ‘War in the Air’ collection. We then depart for Wightwick Manor, a home preserved for the nation to enjoy, full of Pre-Raphaelite art and William Morris furnishings. We will return to the hotel by way of David Austin plant centre for a coffee stop.
Day 5 After breakfast, we commence the homeward journey.
