Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north to the Lake District and to Grange-over-Sands for a four night stay.
Day 2 Travel to Grasmere to visit Dove Cottage and Wordsworth Museum with time to enjoy lunch before travelling through St John's in the Vale to Dalemain House and Gardens where visitors can enjoy four centuries of house architecture, five acres of gardens, historic parkland and a medieval hall tearoom in this peaceful corner of the Lake District.
Day 3 This morning enjoy a cruise from Lakeside to Bowness with time to explore before continuing over the stunning Kirkstone Pass to Glenridding with a stop before returning by way of Shap and Kendal.
Day 4 The highlight of the tour is the Mountain Goat Experience. Travel in 16 seat mini-coaches for “The High Adventure tour”. This tour focuses around the Western Lake District travelling over the Wrynose and Hardknott passes, the steepest in England, stopping to view the extraordinary remains of Hardknott Roman Fort 1000ft up on the fells. See the spectacular views to Upper Eskdale, Scafell and Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountains. A stop for lunch in Eskdale and in the afternoon you will drive onward to “Britain’s Favourite View”, Wastwater, England’s deepest and most dramatic lake. Your next destination is the splendid 14th Century Muncaster Castle surrounded by its internationally acclaimed gardens and famous for its World Owl Trust. The beautiful scenery of the Coniston Fells and Coniston Water brings to an end this classic of all Lake District tours.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
