Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Folkestone and the crossing to Calais. On arrival continue the journey to Antwerp and the hotel for a three night stay.
Day 2 Today’s visit is to Brussels, Belgium’s capital and a fascinating city to discover. Offering museums, monuments, architecture, art, beer, chocolate and of course the Carpet of Flowers. The Flower Carpet is 75m long by 24m wide, 1,800m2 of begonias, which is around 300 cut flowers per m2!! and assembled in 4 hours by a hundred volunteers. This extraordinary spectacle is made complete by a visit to the balcony of the Town Hall, offering a wonderful view of the work (entrance fee applies).
Day 3 A day to explore Antwerp – wander round Antwerp’s medieval heart and discover the beautiful gabled buildings surrounding the cobbled Grote Market square. Standing 123m tall is the spike of the imposing Cathedral of Our Lady, housing many of Rubens paintings. Visit Rubens house or visit the De Koninck Brewery or stroll along to the port and take a boat trip.
Day 4 Breakfast then commence the homeward journey.
Located at the Theatre square in the centre of Antwerp with direct access to the historical centre of town. Restaurants, bars and shopping is all at walking distance. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV and hairdryer. Lift, bar, restaurant and terrace.
