Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north to Melton Mowbray for lunch and free time. Perhaps visit the famous pie shop before continuing the short journey to the hotel for a two night stay.

Day 2 This morning you will visit Burghley House, described as one of England’s greatest Elizabethan houses, and best known for its historical collections of important works of art, early tapestries, impressive Japanese ceramics and sculptures. After visiting the house, explore the grounds which include the unusual Garden of Surprises and the contemporary Sculpture Garden. You will then travel the short distance to Stamford, claimed by Sir Walter Scott as ‘the finest stone town in England’. Free time to explore the quaint streets and alleyways of this historic and compact town.

Day 3 After breakfast, depart the hotel and travel to Thriplow. Stroll around the village to see all the many daffodil displays and open gardens or potter among the stalls. Lunch can be taken using one of the many village eateries. The coach will depart at approx. 14.30 hours to commence the homeward journey.
