Day 1 Morning departure to Arundel for a break before travelling to Eastbourne for a four/five night stay.
Day 2 A drive into1066 country, with a combination of coast and countryside. Visiting Hastings, with ancient churches, buildings, unique fishing quarter, museums, antique shops, narrow streets and tea rooms. Continue on to Rye, with its quaint cobbled streets and historic halftimbered buildings for free time before returning to the charming market town of Battle, with its Battle Abbey and Battlefield.
Day 3 Today a visit to Great Dixter for a private tour of the house and an exclusive chance to wander round the superb renowned gardens, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and the home of the late Christopher Lloyd OBE, who devoted his lifetime to creating one of the most experimental gardens of our time. Depart at 1.30pm for a short trip by your coach to the nearby Kent & East Sussex Railway station at Northiam, to catch the steam train to Bodiam, which then returns to Tenterden at 3.10pm. You will enjoy a Cream Tea on the return trip from Bodiam, whilst viewing the superb scenery of the Rother Valley and High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Day 4 A free day in Eastbourne (NB. On the 6 day tour there will be a 2nd free day at leisure) to explore the museums and art galleries, shop, stroll along the promenade and visit the lovely Victorian pier with its new walkway and facilities.
Day 5/6 After breakfast, you will follow the coastal road through Newhaven and Peacehaven to Brighton for a lunch stop before continuing the homeward journey.
