Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Oxford. In the afternoon we have included a gentle guided walking city tour. Your guide will also point out scenes well known to followers of Morse and Lewis TV series. Continuing on to the hotel for a two night stay.

Day 2 This morning your Blue Badge Guide will meet you at the hotel for the specialist guided tour of some of the sights and scenes of the Midsomer Murder episodes. Including, “where a man was squashed by a truck-load of jam”, learn where you can buy a pint of beer named after Midsomer, called “Try before you die”. Arrive in Henleyon- Thames in time for you to take photos before visiting The Bull for a ploughman’s lunch followed by tea and coffee. Departing after lunch you travel to Dorchester-on-Thames with time for more photos before leaving to travel through Nettlebed, home of the author of the James Bond books. Continuing through Rotherfield Peppard and Dunsden Green, where in the episode “Night of the Stag” the customs inspector was found drowned in a vat of cider. Drive through Shiplake and Hurley onto Maidenhead arriving back to the hotel at approx. 16.00 hours.

Day 3 After breakfast depart the hotel for a visit to Blenheim Palace, Churchill’s birthplace and home to the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, before commencing the homeward journey.
