Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Pembroke to join the 14.45 hours Irish Ferries sailing to Rosslare. Continuing the journey on to Wexford and the Maldron Hotel for an overnight stop.
Day 2 There will be free time in Wexford before starting the journey to the heritage town of Cahir with its mighty Castle and you will have time to explore the towns various attractions. Then on to Bantry, in the heart of West Cork, a region of lush vegetation, palm trees and semi-tropical flowers with a four night stay at the Maritime Hotel overlooking the bay.
Day 3 Framed by the craggy Caha Mountains, Bantry makes a great base for exploring the spectacular scenery in this area. This morning you will take the short drive to the award winning Mizen Head Irish Lights Signal Station at Ireland’s most south-westerly point. At the end of the Mizen Peninsula, the cliffs of Mizen Head rise high above the Atlantic Ocean, where the currents meet from the west and south coasts and waves from the mid-Atlantic crash onto the shore. It may be possible to spot the Fastnet Rock off the coast,
which is known as Ireland’s Teardrop.
Day 4 Day at leisure in Bantry. Discover the harbour town, famous for its seafood and the exquisite Bantry House and Gardens with its sweeping views of the bay.
Day 5 This morning tour allows you to admire the Beara Peninsula from its winding coastline dotted with traditional fishing villages to the rugged landscape within. Then it’s time to enjoy a peaceful ferry ride into Bantry Bay to visit the romantic gardens on the Garnish Island. They comprise of a number of features all of which are nestled within the protection of the woodlands. Day 6 Departing for the journey to Cork, which like Venice, has grown from a series of islands in a medieval marsh. Time to explore this compact, friendly town before continuing your journey by way of Midleton and the Copper Coast to reach Wexford for your overnight stop.
Day 7 After an early breakfast, you travel to the port of Rosslare to join the 08.45 hours sailing to Pembroke, and commence the homeward journey.
