Set high on the rugged North Cornwall coast, Tintagel has dramatic sea views both from the castle ruins on the headland and island. This is a spectacular place, steeped in myths and mystery, and has inspired artists and writers throughout history who have associated it with the legend of King Arthur. Wander round the village and take a look at the Old Post Office, originally a 14th century farmhouse and maybe take a coastal walk.
Day 1 Morning departure to travel to Tintagel stopping at Buckfastleigh for lunch.
Days 2 to 4 During your stay in Tintagel, we have following included excursions for you to enjoy:
A visit into the town of Tintagel before taking a drive round to Port Isaac and then onto the picturesque fishing village of Padstow, now famous as the location of one of celebrity chef, Rick Stein’s restaurants. Its narrow streets and picturesque harbour quays are bustling with visitors during the summer season.
An excursion takes us to South Cornwall to the small town of Fowey at the mouth of the river for some free time before continuing to the small coastal town and fishing port of Looe.
A scenic drive to Bude, a small seaside resort town the mouth of the River Neet and close to the Devon border and then returning by way of Launceston and to Jamaica Inn, Cornwall’s most famous smuggling inn on Bodmin Moor.
Day 5 Time to depart for our homeward journey with a lunch stop at the Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth.
