Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Dover for the sea crossing to Calais. Whilst on board you will have a meal included. On arrival in Calais, you will travel to Aachen and the hotel for a three night stay.
Day 2 Today you will travel to Valkenburg for a day at leisure. Famous for its caves and castle, and with numerous shops, restaurants and cafes to browse and you will find plenty to do. You could visit the striking Valkenburg Castle ruins, the only castle in the country, built on a hill, or go underground to explore the fascinating cave network beneath it instead. You may also wish to take a ride on the chairlift, which transports you above Valkenburg for a bird’s eye view of the city. It takes you to Wilhelmina Tower where you will also find various fun attractions.
Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart late morning and travel to Maastricht, Andre Rieu’s hometown. The town is known for its rich history, beautiful architecture and vibrant culture. It is a city, where past and present merge seamlessly, from the centuries-old churches to the lively squares. There are many museums that have various exciting exhibitions each year and the buildings themselves are a work of art. You will embark on a one hour boat trip on the Meuse before having free time to explore this beautiful old town. Stroll through the town, visit a cathedral of just relax with a coffee and cake in one of the lovely little cafes and watch the world go by. The highlight of your trip is Andre Rieu, surrounded by his Johann Strauss Orchestra, will give an amazing show in the Vrijthof. Afterwards you will return to your hotel.
Day 4 After breakfast, depart the hotel late morning and commence the homeward journey.
