Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north to Cheshire and onto the Crewe Hall Hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 This morning you will head into Chester, where you can explore the almost complete city walls, stroll along the famous ‘Rows’ or maybe visit Chester Zoo. Time for lunch before an included half hour boat cruise along the River Dee.
Day 3 Today travel to Liverpool, where on arrival you will be joined by a local guide who will give you an insight into the history of this incredible city, including information of the fab four – the Beatles. You will have the rest of the day to explore. Visit the many attractions at Albert Dock, the city’s’ shops and museums, or take a ferry on the Mersey.
Day 4 Today you will visit the Lion Salt Works, a restored historic, open-pan salt making site in the village of Marston. The site lies adjacent to the Trent and Mersey Canal and offers a fascinating journey through the life of the country’s last open-pan salt making site. You will discover how the salt works operated and the impact of salt on mid-Cheshire’s people, economy and landscape. Later you will visit Blakemere Village for some lunch and browsing before returning to the hotel to enjoy the wonderful facilities, relax in the stunning lounge in the old building or explore the rest of the old part of the hotel.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
