Visit the Wye Valley for some breath-taking views and stunning scenery in the Cotswolds.
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the Swindon Designer Outlet for a lunch stop and for those interested, there is the Steam – Museum of the Great Western Railway across from the outlet that you may wish to visit (entrance not included). You will then continue to the hotel in Cheltenham for a three night stay.
Day 2 Today will take you along the shore road of the River Severn to the historic town of Chepstow for a short break before you meander north up the beautiful Wye Valley passing the ruins of Tintern Abbey. Lunch stop today is in delightful Monmouth and afterwards you will take a cruise on the River Wye from Symonds Yat.
Day 3 This morning you will have free time in Cheltenham, England’s most complete Regency town whose town houses, characterised by intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco facades, line the historic promenade, squares and terraces. In the afternoon enjoy a trip on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway through the heart of the Cotswolds from Cheltenham to the wonderful honey-coloured village of Broadway.
Day 4 After breakfast, depart the hotel and head to Hidcote Manor Gardens. This is a world-famous garden created by celebrated horticulturalist and plant collector, Major Lawrence Johnson. After an early lunch you will then commence the homeward journey.
