Itinerary

Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey north to Drymen and the hotel for a five night stay.

Day 2 This morning you will head to Stirlingshire and to the steam driven Falkirk Wheel. You will enjoy a unique ride on the world’s first and only rotating boat lift. The magnificent structure stands 115ft tall and requires only the power of eight domestic kettles to sail boats through the air and transfer them between the two canals. In the afternoon you will board the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway for a return steam train ride. Whilst travelling through scenic countryside you will relax in style and enjoy a delightful afternoon tea.

Day 3 Today you will travel through the beautiful Trossachs and over the spectacular ‘Dukes Pass’ with a stop at the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre and enjoy the spectacular views, stroll to the waterfall or just relax with a coffee at the cafeĢ with panoramic views. Continuing to Loch Katrine where you will enjoy a 2 hour cruise along the full length of the loch aboard the steamship SS Sir Walter Scott. Afterwards you will travel to Callander, a bustling tourist town situated on the River Teith, near Stirling, and is often described as the gateway to the Highlands. Enjoy some free time before returning to the hotel.

Day 4 An excursion that takes you to Balloch where you can visit the Loch Lomond Shores, Scotland’s premier visitor attraction, a stunning setting on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and enjoy some free time. You will then board a Sweeneys Cruise’s vessel for a leisurely 2 hour circular cruise exploring the middle island of Loch Lomond sailing on through an area known to locals as ‘The Narrows’ and finally to the village of Luss before you disembark and join the coach to return you to the hotel.

Day 5 Today is a rail trip to Oban. Travel to Dumbarton where you will board the train for the 2 hour 40 minute journey to Oban. Through the rail journey you will see one of Scotland’s most scenic rail routes. On arrival in Oban, nestled on the west coast you will have time to explore this seaside town. The coach will arrive and return you to Drymen travelling once again through the scenic countryside.

Day 6 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
