Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey to Dover for ferry crossing to Calais. Continuing the journey through Holland to Nunspeet and the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 A visit to Giethoorn, a typically Dutch village in Overijsse, full of lakes, reed beds and forests. The people built their houses and farms on the islands and access is only by bridge or traditional Giethoorn boats called punters which we have included for you. You will then visit Orchideeen Hoeve, a breath-taking nature experience in an entirely covered park and you will see many different gardens, tropical nature and animals. Returning to the hotel on part of the tulip route.
Day 3 Travel to Lelystad and along the Markerwaarddijk to Hoorn, with its charming harbour where mighty ships used to sail to, laden with pepper and other spices. Then on to Enkhuijen, a picturesque little town, known for its numerous historic buildings, monuments and the harbour.
Day 4 Today a visit to Zaanse Schans, one of the biggest attractions in the Zaanstreek. A chance to visit the mills and authentic workshops that tell the tale of how the region gained its success. The 18th and 19th centuries are brought to life and you will see houses, windmills, a tin ware factory, a cheese factory and dairy factory and other crafts showing the old Zaan style. Afterwards visit Volendam, a famous ancient traditional fishing village on Lake Markemmeer.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
