Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north and over the border for an overnight stop.
Day 2 This morning you will continue your journey to Newtonmore and to the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 3 A scenic drive along some of the ‘Whisky Trail’. It is the most recognised region in the world for whisky production, with nine working distilleries. A stop will be made in Nairn, renowned for its white sandy beaches before continuing along the Moray Firth, to join ‘The Spirit’ for a two hour dolphin spotting cruise into the Firth.
Day 4 Today you will be heading to the foot of the Cairngorm mountains to enjoy a breath-taking trip on Scotland’s only funicular railway, the highest in the UK reaching the Ptarmigan building at over 1,097m above sea level. A light lunch has been arranged whilst enjoy the stunning scenery followed by a wildlife talk with one of the centres experienced rangers. Afterwards you will travel to Boat of Garten to spot some of the area’s most famous birds, Osprey’s. A ranger will provide an update on the Ospreys activity. The centre is in an ancient pine forest with signed level forest walks with plenty other birdlife and red squirrels to see.
Day 5 We have saved the best day till last. You will travel the short journey to Rothiemurchus, situated at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. You will find a unique blend of stunning landscapes, Scottish wildlife and locally sourced Scottish crafts. First meet the estates resident Highland cows whilst enjoying a detailed commentary by an export ranger. Feed the local deer and tour the estate onboard the coach before disembarking for a hearty highland lunch. The day is completed with a thrilling and in depth 90 minutes falconry display with expert handlers. Perhaps take the chance to browse the local produce in the farm shop before returning to the hotel.
Day 6 Time to depart Newtownmore and head south to your overnight stop in the Perth area.
Day 7 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
