Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north, and to Grange-over-Sands for a four night stay.

Day 2 Today you will enjoy a single journey on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway travelling through seven miles of spectacular scenery, to the foot of England’s highest mountains. After disembarking the train you will travel along the west coast to Whitehaven and on to Keswick for a break, before continuing through the stunning Lake District National Park to Coniston and back to the hotel.

Day 3 This morning travel to Lakeside where you will board the boat for a cruise on Windermere taking in the spectacular lakeland views. On arrival in Bowness you will visit the World of Beatrix Potter. Take a walk through a self-guided tour of the exhibition and garden and take time to browse in the shop and have a delicious treat in the tea room. You then have some free time to wander along the lake edge or shopping before returning to Grange-over-Sands, a pretty resort with an Edwardian feel on the shores of Morecambe Bay for some free time.

Day 4 A scenic drive visiting the tiny village of Hawkshead, with its higgledy-piggledy houses, archways and squares, loved by the poet William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Then up through the National Park over the stunning Kirkstone Pass (subject to weather conditions) to Patterdale and Glenridding and along Ullswater. You will return by way of Shap and Kendal to the hotel.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
