Enjoy Easter in the beautiful corner of England in Kent. Visit the heritage city of Canterbury, enjoy a train ride and visit some gardens.
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Kent and to the Bridgewood Manor hotel for a three night stay.
Day 2 First you will travel to Sissinghurst Castle Garden, once the backdrop for a diverse history, from the astonishing time as a prison in the 1700s to being a home to the women’s land army. Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson fell in love with Sissinghurst and created a world-renowned garden. In the afternoon you will travel to Tenterden to join the Kent & East Sussex Railway for a journey through beautiful countryside to Bodiam. On arrival you will re-join the coach and be taken back to the hotel.
Day 3 HAPPY EASTER Today you will travel to Faversham, sat on the winding Faversham creek and known as a ‘Limb of Dover’, one of the Cinque Ports and has over 475 listed buildings and is one of southern England’s most charming towns. Afterwards you will visit the historic city of Canterbury, dominated by the magnificent Cathedral, now a World Heritage Site. The centre is very compact and is best explored on foot or by a horse drawn carriage.
Day 4 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
This lovely hotel is designed around an inner courtyard and located in Chatham. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, telephone, hairdryer, trouser press, WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. Lift, bar, lounge, restaurant, indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and well- equipped health club.
