The Black Country has been defined as ‘the area where the coal seam comes to the surface’ and this tour gives you an insight into the heritage with a visit to Ironbridge, gardens and canal cruise.
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Telford and the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today visit Blists Hill Victorian Town Museum. It’s a living re- creation of a 19th century town re-enacting life from the early 1700s to the Victorian era. Meet some (almost) real Victorians in their authentic shops and cottages, buy curious goods from a bygone era and watch tradespeople in action in their atmospheric workshops and factories.
Day 3 Enjoy a narrowboat cruise on the historic canal network in Birmingham city centre, followed by a visit to Winterbourne House and Garden in the city suburbs. We have included a cream tea for you to enjoy.
Day 4 Travel to the Black Country Living Museum, one of the most extraordinary open-air museums in the UK, offering a glimpse into 300 years of history like no other. Set in 26 acres, discover the story of the industrial revolution and the Black Country folk who changed the world. Also popular TV series ‘Peaky Blinders’ was filmed here.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
