Newcastle and Hadrian’s Wall

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north and to the centre of Newcastle for a four night stay.

Day 2 Today you will be taken on a four hour ‘Vera’ guided tour to see more than 10 memorable murder scenes and regular haunts from the TV series. A stop will be made for a panoramic shot of Newcastle with its iconic seven bridges that are the backdrop to many of Vera’s episodes and get behind the scenes information about how the show is made and learn the history of places you visit. Also today you will travel to Sunderland to visit a must see attraction - National Glass Centre featuring glass blowing, art exhibitions, museum, artist retail shop and a Brasserie.

Day 3 A free day in Newcastle to explore some of England’s finest Georgian architecture, the stunning quayside setting, many unique cafés, bars and restaurants.

Day 4 Today you will follow part of the route of Hadrian’s Wall, with an opportunity to see a section of the actual remaining structure. You will visit Roman Vindolanda where there is a world-famous collection of artefacts. You will also travel through the Roman town of Corbridge to Hexham Abbey for a visit.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
