5 Day - Tour AW5122
The Peak District is a stunning area to explore and known for the famous Bakewell Pudding.
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north to the Peak District and the hotel in Derby for a four night stay.
Day 2 This morning you will travel to the Heights of Abraham. Here you will take the cable car high above the Derwent Valley up to Hilltop Park, where you can visit one of the many attractions included in your ticket. You will have plenty of time to explore or chill in the Terrace Café with stunning views. Afterwards you will make a stop in Chesterfield, the town with the unusual ‘crooked spire’ church.
Day 3 Today you will enjoy a scenic drive into the stunning Peak District, by way of Leek and Whaley Bridge to Glossop. Then travel along the Snake Pass to Ladybower Reservoir taking in some breath-taking views along the way, (subject to the pass being open) and on to Castleton for some free time before returning to hotel.
Day 4 First stop is Bakewell where you will assemble your own original Bakewell pudding to take away, while learning about the history of this special creation. Whilst waiting for your pudding enjoy a coffee or stroll around the town. Afterwards you will travel the short distance to Thornbridge Estate where we have included a tour of the house for you to learn of the history of the property. (not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters). Time to explore the gardens and we have included a cream tea too.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
Located just a short drive from Derby and close to the Peak District. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer, ironing facilities and tea/coffee making facilities. Lift, bar, restaurant, indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room, spa bath and whirlpool.
