Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Dover for the crossing to Calais. Continue to Bruges for a three night stay.
Day 2 Bruges is distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets, medieval buildings, horse- drawn carriage rides, boat rides, lace, beer and of course chocolate. Stroll the historic city taking in the 17th century houses, now converted into restaurants and cafes and see the 13th century Belfry with its 47-bell carillon. If you are feeling energetic, take the steps up the tower and enjoy panoramic views of the city.
Day 3 Today you make the short journey to the ancient town of Ypres, where we have included entrance to the excellent and moving In Flanders Fields Museum for you to explore. Time for lunch before departing for Zonnebeke, where you will visit the large UK and Commonwealth Cemetery at Tyne Cot followed by the nearby Memorial Museum Passchendaele. Complete with reconstructed trenches, the museum tells the story of the First World War, and the Battle of Passchendaele in a particular and poignant vivid way.
Day 4 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
