Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey to Dover for the sea crossing to Calais and onwards to Amboise for a five night stay.
Day 2 Enjoy time at leisure in Amboise, exploring the charming town. So much for you to see and do.
Day 3 Today you will travel to the capital of the region, Tours, where you will have free time at leisure to explore this delightful town. With is impressive old town by the river, tree-lined squares, half-timbered house and narrow winding streets. After lunch you will visit Chateau du Rivau, the oldest in the Loire Valley which was built in the 15th century, where Charles VII, King of France used to live. Time to explore castle and gardens.
Day 4 You travel to Blois, located in the very heart of the Loire Valley. Explore this royal city with its old town, lively city centre and beautiful buildings. After lunch you will visit Orléans, famous for its role in the Hundred Years' War and its association with Joan of Arc. You can explore its rich heritage in the Gothic cathedral, the Renaissance town hall, and the museums dedicated to art, history, and science.
Day 5 This morning you head for Chisseaux and board a boat for a relaxing journey on the River Cher. Sit back and admire the flora and fauna on this circular cruise, discovering the history of the river, its dams and surrounding vineyards. After the cruise you will visit Chateau de Chenonceau, possibly most famous for its connection with the French Royal Family and Catherine de Medici.
Day 6 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
