5 Days - Tour No AB5048
Day 1 Morning departure to North Devon and to Bideford for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today travel to the resort of Bude with free time to explore and enjoy lunch before visiting Hartland Abbey, cherished home of the Stucley family and full of treasure and memorabilia. Enjoy the beautiful walled and woodland gardens, the extensive parkland and an included cream tea before returning to the hotel.
Day 3 This morning you will visit Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum. A complete family estate with a collection of treasures for all tastes. The Carriage Museum in the stables has a vehicle for every occasion from cradle to grave. In the afternoon you will travel north to Woody Bay Station for a two mile round trip on the Lynton & Barnstaple Narrow Gauge Railway. The journey will take approx. 25 minutes with views over wild moorland and the rugged coastline.
Day 4 A visit to Ilfracombe for some free time to explore this seaside town before travelling to Barnstable with its unique and colourful history and you will see a mix of old and new as you wander round the town. You must visit the Pannier Market where you can sample some of the local food produced by proud local farmers, fishermen and bakers.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
This bargain hotel is located approx. two miles from the historical old port of Bideford, with a bus stop outside of the hotel, and has views over the Torridge Taw estuary and beyond to Instow.
