Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the hotel on the outskirts of Exeter for a four night stay.

Day 2 Head into Exeter, a city rich in history, including the imposing Roman wall, beautiful quayside and Royal Albert Memorial Museum. We have included a visit to Exeter Cathedral for a 90-minute Lady Chapel and Bishop’s Palace Garden tour to discover the history of the cathedral and stories of people who lived and worshipped there.

Day 3 Travel to Topsham and at 11.00 hours you will depart from Topsham Quay to Exmouth for an hour’s boat trip on the River Exe and then catch the train back to Topsham at your leisure. Then free time before returning to hotel.

Day 4 Begin today with a visit to Killerton, an 18th century house given to the National Trust by British politician Sir Richard Acland. Set in 6,400 acres of working farmland, woods, parkland, cottages and orchards. Enjoy an introductory tour before exploring further at leisure. In the afternoon you travel to Coldharbour Mill, one of the oldest woollen mills in the UK, having been in continuous production since 1797. Embark on a guided tour, reliving the sights and sounds of the industrial revolution and admire the textiles, knitting yard and hand-woven rugs.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
