Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Kent and to Canterbury for a four night stay.
Day 2 This morning you will travel the short journey into Canterbury, where you will have the day free to explore this wonderful city, steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking architecture. Visit Canterbury Cathedral – UNESCO World Heritage Site, seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, and resting place of saints and Royalty.
Day 3 Today you will visit Dover Castle, rising above the famous White Cliffs, and is an icon of England. Built soon after 1066, this mighty fortress has been the site of Royal intrigue and epic sieges and was the centre of the crucial effort to evacuate hundreds of thousands of Allied troops from the beaches of Dunkirk. Roam around the Great Tower with its recreated medieval interior and uncover the colourful world of Henry II. Climb to the very top and enjoy amazing panoramic views. In the afternoon you will visit the seaside town of Whitstable for free time to take a stroll to the beach, make a visit to Whitstable’s Museum and learn the history of the traditions that this town had, or perhaps try one of Whitstable’s famous oysters.
Day 4 The excursion today will take you to Emmetts Gardens, this Edwardian Garden with rose, rock and water features against a backdrop of the beautiful Weald of Kent countryside. The afternoon will be free to explore nearby Faversham, rich in history and heritage. Visit many of its listed buildings, such as the 16th-century Guildhall and the Faversham Stone Chapel.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
