Gin, Wine, Palace and Gardens

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Guildford with free time to explore and get some lunch before continuing the journey to the hotel in Leatherhead for a two night stay. Settle in, get ready for dinner and enjoy your gin experience.

Day 2 A visit to Hampton Court Palace. Set on the Thames, the palace is a jewel among English Royal palaces. Highlights include the vast Tudor kitchens where huge feasts were prepared and served to Henry VIII and his six wives in the adjoining Great Hall. You can also visit the sumptuous Georgian state and private apartments overlooking the famous Fountain Court. Plenty of time to explore before returning to the hotel for your private dining followed by wine tasting.

Day 3 After breakfast, depart the hotel and head to Leonardslee Gardens. The gardens re-opened in 2019 after 10 years of closure and was the largest garden restoration in Europe. The gardens are famed for outstanding displays of Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Camellias, Magnolias, Bluebells and the beautiful ornamental rock garden. Enjoy a peaceful walk through one of the ‘finest woodland gardens in England’ which boasts impressive features, including several scarce trees and shrubs. The coach will depart at 14.30 hours for the homeward journey.

NB The gardens are on the sides of a valley leading down to the lake, there is plenty of seating around but the climb back to the reception area can be difficult for those with mobility/breathing difficulties.
