Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Northamptonshire and to the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 This morning travel to Rockingham Castle, built on the instruction of William the Conqueror and frequented by Charles Dickens. Start your self-guided tour ‘below stairs’ and work your way through the Panel Room, Long Gallery and the Great Hall. After lunch you travel to Coton Manor Garden. The garden has been developed and extended capitalising on its natural setting, attractive views and water. The manor house acts as a central focus for the garden, its walls support many roses and shrubs while the surrounding terraces are populated by colourful pots and containers.
Day 3 This morning you travel to the famous University City of Cambridge. The city has many fascinating attractions, not least of which the many colleges. You will meet the guide for a tour of Cambridge ending with a visit to the American Cemetery. Afterwards you have chance to explore the city fully and obtain lunch.
Day 4 The destination today is a visit to Sandringham House and Grounds, the much loved country retreat of the Royal family. The main eight ground floor rooms, regularly used by the Royal family are open for you to view, with the décor and contents remaining very much
as they were in Edwardian times. Time for exploring and obtaining lunch before returning to the hotel mid-afternoon.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
