Itineray

Day 1 Early morning departure for your journey north to Ayrshire and to the hotel in Irvine for a four night stay.

Day 2 Start the day with a scenic morning drive along the Firth of Clyde to Wemyss Bay, where a ferry awaits to transport you to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. Explore the Victorian charm of this once fashionable resort, featuring gardens, coastal walks and quaint eateries. Later, the island tour covers highlights like Ettrick Bays golden sands and Scalpsie Bay before reaching Mount Stuart, the UK’s most flamboyant grand house. Stroll through its intricate rooms and enjoy breath-taking views from the expansive 300-acre gardens.

Day 3 Embark on a journey exploring the local area in the morning and then dive into Scottish history in the afternoon with a visit to Culzean Castle. Perched on Ayrshire’s cliffs with architectural grandeur by Robert Adam, this historic gem was once the home of the Kennedy family. Enjoy panoramic views, opulent interiors, and gardens designed by Sir Thomas Mawson. Uncover its wartime secrets and immerse yourself in the enchanting history of Culzean Castle, a blend of architectural elegance and natural beauty.

Day 4 Today another ferry crossing to another island – Arran, often referred to as ‘Scotland in Miniature’. Your first destination is the Baronial Brodick Castle and Gardens, a historic site dating back to the 13th century. The castle, brimming with treasures, boasts impressive gardens with views of the Firth of Clyde and has recently reopened after a restoration. Free time in Brodick before a scenic tour around the island, capturing sea views towards Kintyre and south to Ailsa Craig, also known as ‘Paddy’s Milestone’.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
